The University of Glasgow’s School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine is seeking to
recruit a dynamic and motivated clinician to help develop our Emergency and Critical Care service.
We welcome applications from candidates who hold an ECVECC/ACVECC diploma (or related discipline
e.g. ECVIM/ACVIM) or have completed an approved residency training programme. In addition to clinical
activities, the post offers a significant element of ‘off clinics’ time for research and scholarship. The role will
also involve the delivery of clinical teaching to undergraduates, interns and residents.
The successful candidate will be joining a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team within our award-
winning state-of-the-art Small Animal Hospital. The hospital is based on the beautiful Garscube estate, 10
minutes’ drive from the vibrant “West End” of Glasgow and less than one hour from Loch Lomond. Our
facilities include on-site 1.5T MRI, CT, C-arm fluoroscopy, a range of Olympus and KarlStorz endoscopes,
a linear accelerator and radio-iodine unit. We have a dedicated well-equipped ICU with advanced
respiratory support (HFNO and ICU ventilator) and CRRT capabilities, and an excellent in-house laboratory.
Our ‘One Hospital’ team ethos ensures exceptional clinical care can be delivered to our patients, and
supports the continual professional development of our vets, nurses and support staff. The ability to work
well with others in a collegial team atmosphere is essential.
