Credentials Application

All Residents must apply to the Credentials Committee for acceptance of final credentials and approval to take the Certifying Examination to achieve Diplomate status. The application should be submitted along wtih the application fee and required documentation by February 15th of the year the Resident intends to sit the certifying examination. This paperwork is submitted via each resident's member dashboard. Payment is also to be made via the resident's member dashboard.

Residency Reading Lists

Copies of the 2024 residency reading lists can be found below. These lists are updated annually and the current reading lists specifically applies to candidates sitting the 2024 certifying examination; however, it is useful for all residents to be familar with this material. Small Animal candidates sitting the examination in September 2024 are responsible for journal articles from calender years 2021 - 2023 , the small animal additional article list and book titles published during or before 2023 (as stated in the documents below). This therefore means that the 2024 exam candidates should be familiar with the 3rd edition of the textbook Small Animal Critical Care Medicine by Hopper and Silverstein. 

Currently there are no ECVECC® large animal residents in residents but the reading material for large animal residents is also included for reference.
