Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Small Animal Internal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care at UCD School of Veterinary Medicine, Dublin, Ireland
The School of Veterinary Medicine, University College Dublin invites applications for the position of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Small Animal Internal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care.
The UCD Veterinary Hospital has state of the art equipment including CT, MRI, ultrasound, interventional radiology, full endoscopy and arthroscopy, laser, a radioactive iodine unit and fully equipped surgical and intensive care suites. Ancillary support includes rehabilitation and physiotherapy. The Small Animal Clinical Studies Section currently has capacity for 13 Clinical Academics Clinicians including four surgery, six internal medicine, two emergency and critical care and one oncology specialist. These staff are supported by 10 interns (rotating and discipline specific), 9 residents and a full team of ancillary staff.
The successful candidate will contribute effectively to the Section of Small Animal Clinical Studies and will participate fully in undergraduate (clinical) teaching, in postgraduate residency training, and in the clinical service provided by the UCD Veterinary Hospital. In the clinical service, this candidate is expected to cover either the Emergency Medicine or Critical Care Services.
The successful candidate will also engage in original collaborative research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals, obtaining funding and fostering collaborations, both nationally and internationally. It is expected that clinical service and related instruction will contribute approximately 50% of the appointee's effort, with the remainder being devoted to formal teaching, administration and other scholarly activities.
95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Above the Bar, Salary: €62,233 - €98,548 per annum.
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
