The universal first aid symbol as set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) inspired the green cross to represent the emergency aspect in our organisation. The Aesculapian snake is a symbol of the medical professions. For the professions in veterinary medicine, the snake is often combined with a “V”-shape.
Blue represents the critical care aspect and the horseshoe shape symbolises good luck and hands that protect the emergency patient.
“ECVECC” are the initials of the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. The rounded features of the letters represent the loving nursing care that is an important aspect of our profession.
